Lincoln Cent, 2009 SMS Bronze, Birth and Childhood Reverse Grade: MS-69 SMS, NGC Finest in Registry In 2009, the United States Mint issued 4 new reverses for the Lincoln Cent, meant to honor 200th Anniversary of Lincoln's Birth. This example of the Birth and Childhood Reverse, depicts Lincoln's birthplace, and is listed in the NGC's finest grades registries.
German States - Bohemia Wenceslaus II, 1 Groschen Kutna Hora Mint, 1300-1305 Wenceslaus II of Bohemia, grandson of Wenceslaus I (aka Good King Wenceslaus), ruled the Kingdom of Bohemia from 1278-1305. He died at age 33, probably of tuberculosis, and was succeeded by his son, Wenceslaus III (Václav III.), the last of the Přemyslid kings in the male line.
An otherwise ordinary coin in a somewhat unusual holder. When PCGS decides to test a new type of holder, they release them as 'samples' to specific dealers for collector feedback.
US Nickel, 1883 Type I (EPU) Variant Racket Counterfeit $5 Gold Piece In 1883, the United States Mint redesigned the Nickel to include the Roman Numeral 'V' instead of the number 5. The first of these coins unusually did not include the denomination 'Cents;' a fact which proved disastrous for the mint, as the coin was exactly the same size and obverse design as the $5 gold coin. Counterfeiters began gold plating them to create what is known as the famous 'Racket' or 'Racketeer' Nickel.
